NEUROLOGICAL SLEEP DISORDERS CLINIC

Paroxysmal sleep disorders of probable neurologic etiology are currently handled primarily by the Epilepsy Clinic.

Patients with suspected paroxysmal neurologic sleep disorders are often referred to the Polysomnography Laboratory for sleep recording. If, however, epilepsy is suspected, the patient may be referred to the Long-term video-EEG Laboratory.

If psychogenic or respiratory (e.g. sleep apnea) etiology is suspected, patients are referred to the Sleep Study Unit of the 1st Department of Psychiatry of Eginitio, which is equipped to evaluate not only psychiatric but respiratory cases as well.
