RESEARCH ETHICS COMMITTEE
A Research Ethics Committee is operating at Eginitio Hospital, αccording to the new (applied since 03 Sept 2018) national regulatory framework (N. 4521/2018, articles 21-27 Chapter E’ - “Ethics Commission and Research Ethics Committee”).
It is an advisory and auxiliary body for research staff. Ιt evaluates whether research protocols of our Hospital comply with research ethics rules. Specifically, it evaluates whether the particular research project is conducted with respect to the value of human beings, the autonomy of the persons involved, their privacy and personal data, as well as the natural and cultural environment.
The Commission is interdisciplinary and consists of five members representing clinics and laboratories.
The Commission meets monthly to decide on the issues.
