Research description

  1. Measuring levels of cytokines (IL – 1b, IL – 6, TNFa, IL – 12, IL – 15, β -2      microglobulin, neopterin) in the serum and the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), polyneuropathy, dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) etc.  The method used was the immunoenzymatic method Elisa
  2. Determination of antibodies against proteins of the spinal cord by the method of immunoblotting  (Western Blot)
  3. Determination of mitochondrial enzymes in human muscle tissue and rat brains
  4. Measurements levels of adhesion molecules (ICAM, VCAM, ELAM) in the serum of patients with MS, Alzheimer type dementia and ALS immunoenzymatic, method used Elisa
  5. Study of the role of chlamydia in MS (determination of antibodies against chlamydial by immunoenzymatic method Elisa in serum and CSF of MS patients, determination of chlamydia mRNA by the method of DNA polymerase and culturing them in biological MS patients)
  6. Participation in the seminar State of the ART in MS that took place in Rome, 3 -5 June 2003
  7. Measuring levels chemokines (RANTES, CCL2, CX3CL1) in patients with inflammatory (MS) and non – inflammatory neurological diseases (dementia, Parkinson, amyotrofic lateral sclerosis, etc.) using the Elisa and the immunoblot (Western blot) method
  8. Measuring levels of cytokines and T lymphocyte subsets in patients with myasthenia, motor neuron disease and autoimmune neuropathy.  Comparison with other non-inflammatory neurological diseases.  Methods used are Elisa and flow cytometry
  9. Participation in the Training Seminar for Myasthenia which took place in Paris. 1 – 2 December 2009, organised by the European Network for Myasthenia
  10. Measurement of levels of proinflammatory cytokines (IL – 12, IL – 15, IL – 17, IL – 23) in serum of patients with MG.  Comparison with other inflammatory (MS) and non-inflammatory neurological diseases.  The method used is the immunoenzymatic method Elisa
