GEORGIOS VLACHOS

Georgios S. Vlachos was born in 1976 in Athens and attained his degree in medicine from the University of Athens in 2000. He was trained in neurology at the Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London in 2007. He received his board certification in neurology in 2011 after specialization at the 1st Neurology Department of the University of Athens at Eginition Hospital. He has also received a scholarship from the Naval Hospital of Athens for training in multiple sclerosis.

Currently he is a PhD student at the University of Athens Medical School and a clinical and research fellow at the Cognitive Disorders Outpatient Clinic of the 1st Neurology Department at Eginition Hospital.

His research interests include the epidemiology and risk factors for subjective cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment and dementia, as well as their association with diet; he has also been involved in clinical trials in mild cognitive impairment/Alzheimer’s disease and migraine. He has authored or co-authored 14 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals (h-index: 8). He has attended seminars in biostatistics and algology, and he has participated in several local and international conferences, including oral presentations and talks. He has been a trainer at the continuing medical education seminars in algology held by the Greek Society of Algology since 2016.
