-Current position:

 

1) Supervisor of the Specialised Outpatient Neurology Clinic, 1st Department of Neurology, Eginitio Hospital, School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece. (2004 – up today)

2) Multi-disciplinary-team coordinator of all rare neurologic diseases groups at Special Unit of Rare Neurological Diseases, Eginitio Hospital, University of Athens, Greece

3) President of the Neurological Nursing Branch  of The Hellenic Regulatory Body of Nurses, Greece .

4) President of the Safety and Quality of Health Services Committee at 1st Department of Neurology, Eginitio Hospital, School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece

5) President of Educational Committee of Nursing at 1st Department of Neurology, Eginitio Hospital, School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece

6) RNurse at Neurosurgery clinic , Evagelismos Hospital (1992)

Education:

  • In 2009, Chrysa obtained an MSc from the Medical School of Athens University, with the thesis ‘Stress and Health Promotion’.
  • One year later, she started her doctoral studies, the  subject of her research is ‘MS and Stress’ and she became a Doctor of Medicine in 2015.
  • In 2012 she obtained MSc from the Medical School of Athens University: ‘Mental Health Promotion’
  • Proficiency degree in English Language

 

Dr Chrysovitsanou has also :

1. Participated in clinical studies in Neurological Diseases

2. Multiple publications in international and national journals

3. Participated as an honoured speaker in Neurological conferences for MS and other neurologic diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis, N. Parkinson, Dementia, Stroke, Headache.

4. Columnist in the website “Living Like You” that deals with MS patient care

5. She has a two-month column in the magazine of MS Society in Greece and is also, member of the scientific committee of MS society in Greece.

6. In 2016 she created her own MS web site: www. mscare.gr

7. Teacher in Nursing School, Athens, Greece : educational supervisor in post graduating programmes in neurology and mental health (2011-2014)

8. Editorial Board Member: Hellenic Journal of Nursing Science

9. She is counselling and educating neurologic patients and their families on their disease and therapy. She has been educating nurses on MS and disease modifying therapies in MS, since 2000 till now. She is the leader and coordinator of support groups for patients and their families.

10. Dr Chrysovitsanou  is an active member of theInternational Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN) and the Federation of MS.

11. She obtained the first award of the Hellenic Club of scientists-Writers and Artists, 1989
