ANGELOPOULOU GEORGIA

Georgia Angelopoulou got her degree in Psychology from School of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has a Master of Science in Special Education from the Department of Psychology, University College London - Institute of Education and a Master of Science in Clinical Neuropsychology – Cognitive Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine/Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University. She is currently a doctoral student in First Department of Neurology of National Kapodistrian University of Athens (Eginitio Hospital) under the supervision of Associate Professor Constantin Potagas. Her doctoral dissertation is focused on acquired language disorders due to stroke. In 2016, she was trained in neuroimaging methods in Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Massachusetts General Hospital) in Boston. In 2017, she got a doctoral scholarship from Fulbright Foundation, in order to conduct a comparative study between Greek- and English-speaking patients with post-stroke aphasia, in Boston University. Her research interests include several areas in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology, with a main focus on assessing patients with post-stroke aphasia, neurodegenerative diseases and the implementation of advanced neuroimaging methods.  She has participated in national and international conferences and she has co-authored papers in peer-reviewed journals.
