PANDIS DIONYSIOS

Dionysis Pandis was born in Athens and studied medicine at the University of Athens. He specialized in Neurology at the Eginition Hospital and then moved to the United States. (Columbia University Medical Center, New York) where he subspecialized in EEG and epilepsy.
Upon his return to Greece, he joined the medical staff of the Neurological Clinic of the Eginition Hospital, working in all neurological departments (cognitive and motor disorders, peripheral nervous system disorders, and multiple slcerosis).
His main scientific interest, however, is epilepsy, and together with Andreas Kyrozis, they organized an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) where patients are monitored for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. At the same time, he is involved in the study of inpatient and outpatient EEGs while he is following patients on an outpatient basis both in the specialized epilepsy outpatient clinic and in the general neurological outpatient clinic.
He is an active member of the Hellenic Scientific Society against Epilepsy and the Hellenic Society of Clinical Neurophysiology.
His educational activity is shared in education of Medical and Nursing students, in postgraduate training of specialized neurologists and physicians of other specialties in many postgraduate programs in which he teaches, as well as in the continuous training of new neurologists in EEG with the organization of annual EEG schools.
He is constantly monitoring the latest progress in epilepsy by attending almost every European, World and American Epilepsy Congress, while actively contributing with lectures in conferences and seminars of various medical societies in Greece.
