Yorgos Tsiklis received his Psychology degree from the School of Philosophy of Athens University developing particular interest in the relationship between cognitive functions and the brain and in experimental research methods. He continued his studies acquiring a master's degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the School of Medicine of the University of Athens in cooperation with the Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University after conducting his thesis on the neuronal substrate of working memory and auditory comprehension deficits in post-stroke aphasia patients.
