ANGELOPOULOU GEORGIA

Georgia Angelopoulou, Psychologist – Clinical Neuropsychologist, currently works as a post-doctoral researcher in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She got her degree in Psychology from School of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with distinction. She has a Master of Science in Special Education from the Department of Psychology, University College London - Institute of Education and a Master of Science in Clinical Neuropsychology – Cognitive Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine/Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University. She was trained in neuroimaging methods in Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Massachusetts General Hospital) in Boston. In 2017, she got a doctoral scholarship from Fulbright Foundation, in order to conduct a comparative study between Greek- and English-speaking patients with post-stroke aphasia, in Boston University. She got her doctoral diploma from School of Medicine of National Kapodistrian University of Athens (Eginitio Hospital) under the supervision of Associate Professor Constantin Potagas. Her doctoral dissertation is focused on acquired language disorders due to stroke. From 2021, she is a post-doctoral researcher in Neuropsychology and Language Disorders Unit of 1st Department of Neurology, while she also collaborates with 1st Department of Psychiatry. She has clinical experience in assessing neurological and psychiatric patients with cognitive deficits while she is also interested in adults’ psychotherapy. She has been working in funded and non-funded research projects. She has participated in national and international conferences, and she has co-authored papers in peer-reviewed journals. She has taught Psychology and Research Methods courses in colleges, as well as in bachelor programs of Department of Speech Pathology of University of Peloponnese and Department of Psychology of Panteion University as an academic scholar. She has also taught in several master programs of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens while she serves as Adjunct Professor at Hellenic Open University.
